How Your Spiritual Health Affects Your Physical Health

Hi from Luxembourg! 

I am back to blogging after 2 weeks sick leave and I want to start by thanking you for all your personal messages!

In 2019, I was fortunate to travel around the globe, google pictures reminded me that with sending me this pic:

I ended the year with a month of traveling between continents. However, this time my immune system was weak and I got the flu! I believe that all diseases, discomfort and sicknesses are trying to give us some kind of warning. I’ve not had such a major flu for the last 3 years. It was a sign from universe to stop and observe before my big trip in Feb-March. Therefore, I spent last 2 weeks trying to understand what the warning for me was.

I found three major issues in my own healing. When I explained what I found to my clients or colleagues, I realized that most of us go through the same patterns in January. Astrologists were warning about this start to 2020, with epidemic diseases all around the world and many people starting their New Year slow with sickness.
 
I wanted to devote this newsletter to understanding the intrinsic links between cold, flu and influenza and our own beliefs, emotions and mindset shifts and how to shift our mindset and energy around it. 

My realizations and lessons covers 3 areas:

BODY

Immune System 

Sometimes we get sick even if we meet just 1 person who was sick in the office, sometimes we do not get affected even though everyone around us is sneezing and taking sick leave one after the other. It all depends on our immune system at that time. Keeping a healthy diet and healthy living improves your immune system. Healthy diet and living may be different for all of us, of course, it is better to check with your doctor, I will share what caused my immune system to fail, please take actions if it resonates:

Nutrition-based eating

When I travel, I have a tendency of eating junk food more than ever 🙂 Instead of fruits and vegetables I can switch to snacks and yummy unhealthy food on the menu easily. With 3 days travels within the EU, I had a chance to balance it with home-cooked food when I am back home. However, keeping the same bad habit for month prior did not help. So I realized I need to eat consciously during travels and keep guilty pleasures in control 😉

Support of any supplements, herbs and remedies

There are so many different types of supplements that can help your immune system. I like to use herb remedies, to be honest I stopped all of them after August. But my issue here was ‘not honoring the voice when I tuned in’. 

What does that mean? If you have been following me, you know I have many ways to tune in. You can read the ‘how to tune in your inner voice’ post here. Every time I tuned in, I was getting a clear message of getting a blood test. I even found whatsapp chats from September in which I wrote “ Girls, today I felt that I need to get a blood test during my meditation, it was a clear message, how can I do it in Luxembourg?” Of course, my dear friends replied to me, but I was too busy to get it done! When I was in the emergency room with a serum in my veins, I got the results of a mandatory blood test. Good news! I did not have the swine influenza virus, not so good news: My iron levels were alarming! I was grateful to have cold flu, it made me realize that I have to start taking care of my iron levels.

Sleep

I realized that getting enough sleep is key for me! There is so much good research about the importance of sleep. Some people sleep 5 hours, some 8. I found that I need a good 7 hours sleep to be healthy... when I sleep less than that for a period of time, my system crashes. As I know this fact, last 2 years I was mindful on keeping 7 hours. My body is used to 2-3 hours of differences, I can sleep when I travel around Europe, however I have jetlag when I exceed that time difference and my recent international travels did not help! I realized that I need to sleep more on the plane with drinking only water, so goodbye wine and definitely read less books and watch less movies to sleep.

SOUL

In my spiritual path, I have learned that cold flu/influenza is driven by collective FEARs, and FEAR resonates with FEAR. If your fears are triggered by the place you are in (family issues, news, political situation, work), you are more likely to attract a virus to your system. In January, there was cold flu infection in many places on the earth, now it is evolving even further. When I was in Istanbul, I resonated with the collective fears immediately, it was in the news, and everywhere I went was similar topics. It triggered my own fears, the issues I buried came to surface.

In order to realize the root cause, I have used journaling. I was not in a place to meditate or walk due to my condition. The more I journaled the more I became aware of what the fear was and I had chance to work on those fears, this time booking healing sessions for myself 🙂 If you do not yet believe in the effects of journaling, please check my blog here to see how it can help you as well.

MIND

When you realize your fear, you need to shift your beliefs around it, so you do not resonate with this fear anymore. If you are not able to take healing sessions, the best way to work with yourself is through AFFIRMATIONS. I believe in the power of affirmations so much, I use them as supplements to my sessions and my clients needs to work on affirmations related to their topic of need. 

What is an affirmation?

Many of us have negative thoughts in our mind through the day, we keep self-sabotaging by saying things like “You are not good enough, you are fat, and your manager doesn’t like you”. The problem with it, is that when we define the energy that we want to attract and keep attacking negative situations in our life, they become self-fulfilling prophecies. 

An Affirmation is a POSITIVE statement that you deliberately remind yourself through repetition. When you repeat them often, after sometime you believe in them and you start to attract positive changes in your life.
If you find the root cause of your fear, just convert it to a positive. I am a huge fan of working on personalized affirmations. However, thanks to the great author and teacher Louise Hay (rest in peace 🙏🏼) there are already affirmations for all diseases.
